Chin Swee Caves Temple (清水岩庙) marks fifty years of its Building Society this month with a statue that has not left Fujian before, and a seven-day Water and Land Grand Dharma Assembly on the ridge below Resorts World Genting. The Chin Swee Deity statue from Anxi Ancestral Temple arrives on 22 October 2026. The release puts it at about 2.5 feet tall and more than 900 years old. Organisers say this is its first trip outside China. Chin Swee on Gunung Ulu Kali is treated as a major branch temple in Southeast Asia. Devotees who already stop here on the Awana SkyWay can pay respects during the same visit as the pagoda and the cave shrine.
The Golden Jubilee Water and Land Grand Dharma Assembly runs 23 to 30 October 2026 across seven altars on the temple grounds. Venerable Miao Jiang (妙江大和尚), Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China and abbot of Zhulin Temple on Mount Wutai, leads it with about 80 monks from China and abroad. The 24 October launch sits on the same day as a 50th anniversary gala dinner for affiliate temples, monastics, and invited guests. That dinner is not a public ticketed show.
The press release lists the sutras for the week: Medicine Buddha Sutra, Brahma Net Sutra, Diamond Sutra, Amitabha Sutra, Ksitigarbha Sutra, and the Great Repentance Text. Devotees join through merit sponsorship for prayers and offerings. The release does not print a walk-up ticket price. Treat the grounds as the usual free temple during posted hours, and ask at the desk if you want a sponsored seat in the assembly.
Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, chairman of Chin Swee Caves Temple, spoke at the Wisma Genting launch. The release quotes him on welcoming the Anxi statue and Venerable Miao Jiang, and on the temple as a place that still holds worship alongside heritage visits. The Building Society was registered with the Registrar of Societies on 4 November 1976. The hillside complex itself opened to the public later, in 1994, after Lim Goh Tong's long build. The 50th year is the society's, not a claim that the pagoda is fifty.
Practical approach is the same as any Chin Swee day, with one cable-car wrinkle this week. Awana SkyWay is on maintenance closure 12 to 16 October 2026. Genting SkyWay's 5 to 9 October stop is already over. During the Awana shutdown the resort lists a free van between First World Hotel lobby and the temple lobby, 09:00 to 19:00, every 30 minutes. The assembly starts after that window, on 23 October, so the gondola should be running again. Keep the SkyWay ticket if you drop at Chin Swee Station and reboard for the peak.
Temple hours in PLACE research and Malaysia.travel are 08:00 to 19:00. Some ticket resellers print 09:00 to 18:00. Use the later close only if the board at the station says so. Parking on site is limited. Gohtong Jaya and Sky Sentral remain the usual park-and-ride if you do not want to drive the last hairpins. This is not a mall atrium programme and it is not the Haunted Highlands overlay already covered at Skytropolis.
If you are on the hill only for SkyWorlds, budget a separate hour. The Galleria on Sky Terrace, the glass lotus, and Kimhua Hall opened earlier in 2026. They stay useful on a 50th-anniversary visit: indoor exhibits if cloud sits on the ridge, a hall under the lotus for gatherings. Do not expect the Anxi statue in those rooms until 22 October.
